Production Production

Our subsidiary Festival Productions has created award-winning syndicated new music radio, advertising campaigns, drama and documentary series for BBC and UK commercial radio since 1993. It has won two Sony Radio Silver Awards and an APG Gold for a campaign commissioned by the UK Health Education Authority. was launched in 2000 as the UK's first multi-genre online internet radio service with support from Microsoft. It pioneered the concept of online music 'curation' and has provided a global radio platform for acknowledged British specialist music experts and independent labels.

Our radio productions have covered a wide variety of musical bases including: a monthly UK indie music showcase sponsored by Rough Trade for broadcast on Japanese commercial radio; the 'Independent Music' podcast for The Independent newspaper with the Association of Independent Music; the 'Breakout' new music showcase for Music Week; and the Rough Guide's monthly 'Guide to World Music'.
Consultancy Consultancy

Our expertise in radio industry strategic, commercial, regulatory and operational issues derives from direct experience of having created, successfully launched and managed innovative, large-scale commercial radio stations in the UK, Europe and Asia. Our knowledge of the sector is the accumulation of three decades' work executing a determinedly hands-on approach to creating new and exciting radio brands.

Successes have included the launch of groundbreaking commercial stations such as Kiss 100 (London), Kiss 102 (Manchester), Kiss 105 (Yorkshire), Juice 107.2 (Brighton), Radio Juventus (Hungary), Radio 7 (Moscow) and Radio City (India).

Outputs are always tailored to the client's specific needs, whether a seminar with senior management, a slide show presentation or a detailed written report.

Clients have included: the UK government's 'Digital Britain' consultation, the BBC Trust, RadioCentre and Bauer Radio in the UK; the BBC World Service Trust, News Corporation's Star TV and Metromedia International overseas.
Technology Technology

Our development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, in over-the-air and online operations, has helped to enhance the success of our radio businesses. We are keen to devise and implement IT that can improve the creative processes in radio production and distribution, rather than replacing them.

We are the lead partner in two partnership R&D projects, 'Radio Connected' and 'RadioDeck', which have received financial assistance from the UK government's Technology Strategy Board. Both represented unprecedented collaborations across the radio industry value chain, bringing together content producers, aggregators, radio hardware manufacturers, online radio and broadcast radio (BBC and commercial). 'Radio Connected' tackled improvements to the connectivity between audio producers and online radio listeners. 'RadioDeck' has produced a prototype tool for radio producers to append appropriate rich metadata and to distribute their work via multiple platforms.

A third project, funded by the Technology Strategy Board, commissioned us to create a prototype online 'wizard' for entrepreneurs who wish to apply for the necessary blanket licences to use music copyrights in a 'radio' context in the UK.
